Because the Liberal Media never gives a Conservative candidate fair treatment, I only consented to answer their written questions by email so I could have proof of what I said. I am glad that I did, because they edited out most of what I said, leaving my answers without their context. Warning, if you ever run for office as a conservative, never speak to the liberal press! If you live in my district, email me if you would like for me to forward you a copy of this email chain.

My answers left out of the article are in blue.
*Look closely and you will see their biased editing. Anything that might help me get votes was conveniently left out of the article. Is it just me, or do they seem to favor my ex-democrat opponent?
Of course my ex-democrat opponent has chosen to focus his failing campaign on the one topic from the article that is not a State matter. I don't know if he doesn't understand this or he is hoping the voters do not. Trying to scare seniors citizens is an old democratic trick. I am confident that Republican senior citizens are smart enough to see through this scam.

1) town or city of residence?
I live on a farm near Bradford. They wrote; Long, who lives near Aberdeen. Where is that? Was this on purpose?
2) I am 58. Your age?
I am 60 years old.
3) married? and number of children?
Married 38 years with three adult sons.
4) for how long have you served as an elected official and in what spots?
I am in my second term as a J.P. on the Jackson Co. Quorum Court.
5) occupation.
Farmer/ Small Business owner.
6) why vote for you instead of your opponent?
I am passionate about protecting our Freedom, and I am willing to fight Biden or anyone else that threatens it.
I believe the survival of our country depends upon our return to the Federal Republic that our founders established. The States created this Federal Republic, now only the states can save it by forcing the Federal government to act only within the constitutionally delegated authority But, we must elect people like myself that are willing to stand up for our rights that are enumerated in our constitutions. What good does it do to have rights if we are not willing to enforce them. (The blue part of my answer was left out of the article.)
7) what will your top four or five priorities be if elected?
Standing up to unconstitutional Federal laws, mandates and
programs that are threatening this country.
Protecting the unborn.
Protecting our gun rights.
Reducing the size and power of the state government so we can
eliminate the income tax.
Returning to local control of public schools. Our students are being
indoctrinated, not educated
8) do you support or oppose the state's Medicaid expansion program
that provides health insurance to more than 300,000 low-income Arkansans, and why?
Oppose. I do not see any Constitutionally delegated authority for government to be involved in health care.
9) what is your position on abortion and do you favor any exceptions such as to save the life of the mother
and in cases of rape or incest to an abortion ban?
I oppose abortion from the time of conception. The only exception that I can justify is to save the mother from certain death. (This topic was left out of the article.)
10) do you support vouchers under which parents are paid tax dollars to educate their children at a public school, private school or home school?
Yes. Currently public schools have a monopoly on state funding. As with all monopolies, there is no incentive to produce better products or cut cost. We have seen in public education, that as funding has increased, test scores have decreased. It is obvious to me that throwing more money at this problem has not worked. That's why I advocate for a return to local control of public education. When local school boards ran the schools, they turned out well educated students because they were accountable to the taxpayers and parents. My wife and I home schooled our three sons’ for over 20 years, all those years we were paying taxes to support public schools, and money was tight to say the least. With vouchers, the tax funding follows the student and makes it more affordable for the parents to choose how their children will be educated. Government monopolies are never good for the consumer and the free market is always the best solution. (This topic was left out of the article.)
11) do you want to change any gun laws or if so which ones?
Anyone that infringes upon our absolute right to keep and bear arms, as protected by Article 2 Section 5 of the Arkansas Constitution. Also, the state government is not under any obligation to aid the Federal government in the enforcement of Federal gun laws that violate the 2nd Amendment of the Federal Constitution. I am not aware of any Federal gun law that does not infringe upon our rights. (This topic was left out of the article.)
12) do you want to eliminate the state income tax? how would you finance that?
Yes. I propose eliminating all unconstitutional programs from our bloated state
bureaucracy. (This topic was left out of the article.)
13) do you want to eliminate the state property tax? how would you finance that?
Yes. I propose eliminating all unconstitutional programs from our bloated state
bureaucracy. (This topic was left out of the article.)
14) do you favor or oppose critical race theory and how do you define critical race theory?;
Oppose! Instead of children being taught to judge people by the content of their character is teaching students to judge people by the color of their skin. The dream has become a taxpayer funded nightmare! (This topic was left out of the article.)
15) what are the differences between you and your opponent?
I think this will be obvious to anyone who reads this article. Voters have a clear choice in this race. If they are happy with how the State and Federal governments are functioning, they should vote for my
opponent, because he will not rock the boat. If they want someone who will fight to restore a smaller, constitutionally limited government then they should vote for Wayne Long.
16) Griffin referred to he would sign letters of support for economic development projects in the district.do you disagree with him on that?
If the funding has already been appropriated, then I would. However, I would not vote to fund such projects. It is not the government’s job to pick winners and losers in the business world. (That is the job of the Free Market. We cannot ask a retired grandmother in Bradford to pay taxes to subsidize a company that would locate in Blytheville, from which she will not benefit. Or, what about the small business owner already located in Blytheville for many years, he is being forced to pay taxes to subsidize a company that will now compete with his existing small business in the labor market. Arkansas has the 17th highest tax burden in the country. The states that border Arkansas have an average ranking of 41st. THAT is why companies are not moving into Arkansas. If we cut taxes and regulations for ALL businesses, new industry will come to AR and existing businesses will grow and expand. (The blue part of my answer was left out of the article.)
17) i noticed on one of your posts that "taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms and medicaid and mediciare should be de-funded." do you believe that? and if so why?
Yes, I do. Medicaid is just another state welfare program. Historically in our country, welfare was not needed because the churches, local fraternal organizations and individuals funded charitable giving to those that they knew were truly in need through no fault of their own. Now citizens are taxed to the point they have no disposable income with which to be charitable; the old way was much better. The Bible says If you don't work you don't eat. Hunger will motivate people to get off the couch and start looking into all the “Help Wanted” signs.
The blue part of my answer was left out of the article. (The blue part of my answer was left out of the article.)
what action would you take as a state lawmaker referring medicare, a
federal program?
Until we return to true federalism there is not much we can do about it. (Medicare is a Federal program controlled by the U.S. Congress not the Arkansas House as my opponent must believe.) Private insurance is always better than socialized medicine.
According to https://americashealthcarefuture.org, “The Medicare program is already at risk for today’s seniors, its trustees warn, and its Hospital Insurance (HI) Trust Fund is projected to be depleted by 2026 under current law. Chen, Church and Heil caution that enacting “Medicare at 60” in 2022 would “hasten the depletion of the trust fund” by two years compared with current projections and could cause its bankruptcy by 2024.”
(“Congress can stand by and do nothing, leaving millions without any coverage or they can do as I have suggested and replace it with a private Free Market program. Either way it is a Federal matter not a State one”) Wayne Long

can you give me examples of unconstitutional programs in state government?
I think one good example is that the Arkansas Department of Health is providing free family planning services (Birth control) to illegal aliens. They also provide prenatal services to them until they are able to get on Medicaid. The Arkansas Medicaid program then picks up the entire cost of delivering the anchor baby who will be a U.S. citizen at birth. The citizen baby then provides the entire family with have a foot hold to stay in America. Our Arkansas tax dollars are helping to encourage and subsidize the invasion taking place at our southern border. (This topic was left out of the article.)
