education
I believe children should be educated, not indoctrinated. We must ban the teaching of Socialism, Critical Race Theory and the LGBT lifestyle in our public schools. Children are being taught to hate this country and the way God made them. We have raised up a generation of young people who think they are Socialist/Communist and weren't taught history to know how those stories ended in other counties. I will sponsor or cosponsor legislation to stop the indoctrination of our children, which is being funded by our own tax dollars.
Back in the days when the local school boards were in charge most students were well educated. This was because the board was accountable to the parents and the tax payers. Since the Federal and State governments have started running things, proficiency in basic education skills has plummeted to all time lows. I will sponsor or cosponsor legislation to return control of government schools back to the local school boards. Centralized government never works well, if we must have government schools they are best controlled at the most local level where there is accountability to the citizens/tax payers.
Government schools have a monopoly on taxpayer funding. As with all monopolies there is no incentive to improve or cut cost. School choice would force government schools to improve or be replaced. My wife and I home-schooled our three sons for over 20 years, all the while we were paying taxes to support the government schools. The tax funding should follow the child to wherever the parent chooses to educate their child. In a free market those who offer the best product or service thrive. May the best choice win!
